Surfers Against Sewage - the perfect fit for MadeKind
We are proud to be supporting Surfers Against Sewage in their mission to fight plastic pollution and clean up the UK's oceans, rivers and waterways. Their priority is to fight plastic pollution by changing consumer behaviour when it comes to single use plastic, and cleaning up pollution from our beaches and rivers.
The partnership with SAS will not only include us donating 2% of our sales from the Body Wash collection, but also to organise community events and river clean ups to help raise awareness of plastic pollution and the effects on our environment.
We are lucky enough to live near the River Thames and like thousands of people throughout the country we enjoy getting out on the water on paddle boards, swimming and kayaks. Figures released by the Environment Agency showed that every waterway they monitored in the country failed the standards required for chemical pollution and that the River Thames has some of the highest recorded levels of micro plastics for any river in the world. Tiny bits of plastic have even been found inside the bodies of crabs living in the Thames.
